![]() ![]() By the time Shock 1 takes place, it stands to reason that advancements in computing technology have far surpassed that point, but again it's never said how many bytes something like Shodan takes up. Granted this says nothing about storage capacity, and in game terms we have no idea just how much space Shodan's intelligence takes up, compressed or not. With the processing power doubling about every two years, they predict that perhaps in 20 years we might have systems that allow for artificial intelligence on par with human intelligence. But in all seriousness, scientists do predict that one day we'll have processors capable of handling a similar capacity to the human brain. That's my theory.Īctually I was just joking around. That's my theory, based only on the evidence provided above. ![]() Based on Free Radical, she knew Earth had everything she needed, and hijacking Becca to get there was the optimal way to get there based on what she had at her disposal. Why? Because she knew she could shed layers of unecessary size, fit into Rebecca and reconstruct herself on Earth. ![]() So, it would serve to reason that she either altered Rebecca while she was unconcious (I'd imagine she passed out from the spider toxins shortly being bitten), or used the FTL drive field to merge a reality where Rebecca implanted herself with the cyber rig, or, alternitavely, had one from the start. Once you manually reprogrammed them, she gained several, VERY powerful supercomputers, which she used to reconstruct herself and stabilize her program, gaining the power to overpower and overwrite Xerses. This would make sense as to why SHODAN lacked the processing power and program stability to take over the Sim Units herself on Ops. I seem to remember a SS fanstory mentioning SHODAN being a Fractial AI, one that could rebuild itself from any fragments short of total deletion. ![]()
